ARC PRODUCT FAMILY > ARC Lite
ARC Lite is the entry level, yet scalable products in ARC family. Easy
to set up ARC Lite shields the customers enterprise database yet
providing required access to any vendor application simultaneously
providing shielded access of the vendors database to any of the
customers application. This scheme of things achieves a B2B and BI
data exchange in full duplex manner without going through the third
party exchange and yet leaving the governance of the enterprise data
access in the respective data owners hands.
Functional Components
ARC Lite Client: A thin client that resides on the end station
desk top or lap top and runs under Windows 2000, Windows XP and
Windows Vista operating systems. It intercepts all the communication
originating from end node for database Server under the scope of ARC
governor on the fly and communicates with the ARC Governor Server to
determine the security rules that needs to be enforced on the user
end. These rules can be based on Windows user id or end stations IP
address or MAC Address. Rules will apply regardless of the application
that the end user is using. A user can download and install client on
his/her desk to as easy as any user
ARC GS: ARC Governor Server holds the centralized security
policy repository and directs the policy enforcement actions to ARC
Lite client. Governor requires a Relational database for its own
operation. Governor Server is available in wide verity of hardware and
software platforms. Platform requirements for a Governor Server are as
below.

ARC Studio Standard: ARC Studio Standard is the policy development
and policy administration GUI tool that runs on any Windows operating
system.

ARC Audit Reporter: ARC Audit reporter is the auditors tool
for viewing the policy, evidence of enforcement and producing the
reports from audit logs. Audit Reporter allows exporting reports in
variety of formats such as PDF and CSV.

This tool is used by internal auditing departments /auditing firms to
discover who is accessing what? in current IT environment and
generate audit reports with required granularity (Role.Users.DB.Schema.Table.Column).
Ad hoc reporting on access logs with multiple filters is possible.
This is a greatly simplified and time saving option as opposed to
conventional technique of gathering multiple audit logs of diverse
granularity from DBs, applications, web servers and operating systems
and combining them in to meaningful reports.
