ARC PRODUCT FAMILY > ARC Enterprise (EAC)
Enterprise solutions simplify data access governance and
compliance by allowing you to centralize management of data access
control logic irrespective of the data source or applications it is
accessed in - in a demonstrable way and without custom coding or
modifying your existing applications. You get a security shield for
your data that changes and grows with you and modern technology-
without growing your work. ARC empowers your IS team to meet your
business information needs and corporate governance data security and
legal compliance needs comprehensively
Functional Components
ARC DS: Database server as a proxy server to the
native database. ARC DS is the heart of ARC technology. ARC DS
intercepts all the communication directed to the database server ; on
the fly reverse engineers the SQL commands and validated them against
the security policies. It modifies the SQL query to apply the security
logic on the fly without affecting the business logic and the intent
of SQL and forwards engineer again. ARC DS runs on the same server on
which database is running. Currently ARC DS is available for virtually
all versions of MS SQL Server, Oracle and DB2.
ARC GS: ARC Governor Server holds the centralized security
policy repository and directs the policy enforcement actions to ARC
Lite client. Governor requires a Relational database for its own
operation. Governor Server is available in wide verity of hardware and
software platforms. Platform requirements for a Governor Server are as
below.
Operation Systems Choices:
Windows 2000 Server or above
Linux
Solaris
IBM AIX
RDBMS Choice
MS SQL servers
IBM DB2
Oracle
ARC Studio Standard: ARC Studio Standard is the policy
development and policy administration GUI tool that runs on any
Windows operating system.

ARC Audit Reporter: ARC Audit reporter is the auditors tool
for viewing the policy, evidence of enforcement and producing the
reports from audit logs. Audit Reporter allows exporting reports in
variety of formats such as PDF and CSV.

This tool is used by internal auditing departments /auditing firms to
discover who is accessing what? in current IT environment and
generate audit reports with required granularity (Role.Users.DB.Schema.Table.Column).
Ad hoc reporting on access logs with multiple filters is possible.
This is a greatly simplified and time saving option as opposed to
conventional technique of gathering multiple audit logs of diverse
granularity from DBs, applications, web servers and operating systems
and combining them in to meaningful reports.
